Releasing Equity in Hampshire.
Hampshire1 is a county in the south of England. It covers an area of 3,500 square kilometres and has about 1 million residents. It has been inhabited since ancient times, with many different settlements dating back to Roman Britain. It’s home to some remarkable landmarks such as Winchester Cathedral and Stonehenge.
Hampshire is a county in the southeast of England. The name Hampshire originates from an Old English word meaning “home”. The city of Southampton is its capital and most populous city. It’s also home to Winchester, one of the wealthiest cities in Britain. Hampshire has an area of 2,084 km2 (802 sq mi). It shares borders with Dorset to the west and Wiltshire to the northwest. The county has been inhabited for the last 2000 years, although most people think King Alfred founded it around AD870.
Its land consists mainly of chalk hills with flat plains in the east and south-east. There are also downs to the west, which have large areas of arable farmlands where wheat and barley are grown extensively. Its location next to these large bodies of water has led it to be home to many fishing ports over time.
Its weather is very temperate, with a mean temperature of 12.0 degrees Celsius and an average rainfall of over 50 inches per year. There are some popular attractions within Hampshire: Stonehenge (a prehistoric monument) attracts over one million visitors each year, while Salisbury Cathedral (14th century), Winchester Cathedral (11th century) and Breamore Priory Church (12th century), among others, have architectural or historical significance.
