Releasing Equity in Gloucester.
Gloucester1 is a small city that has a lot of historic buildings. It’s located in the southwest region of the country and is just east of Bristol. Gloucester was founded by Romans who wanted to trade with people living on the island. Today, it’s one of England’s most prosperous cities for tourism and commerce. There are many things to do there, including visiting Gloucester Cathedral or taking in some live theatre at The Playhouse Theatre Royal!
Gloucester is a small town situated on the River Severn and the English Channel. It has a population of around 100,000 people. It’s located in the southwest region of the country and is just east of Bristol. Britons founded it from two different tribes (the Dobunni and the Catuvellauni) sometime between 43-410 AD. The settlement’s name means “fortress on ?” or “place near water.” In Anglo-Saxon England, it became one of five boroughs granted rights to hold fairs as part of King Alfred’s reconstruction of trade after Viking raids had largely destroyed these centres during the ninth century. Its history alternates between being important both commercially and militarily at various times, hosting up to 25% of the country’s trade.
It was a market town until 1832 when it became part of Gloucestershire, and since 1964 has been best known as an outlying suburb in outer London. It is now also part of the Coal Port area, which had previously held one-third of Britain’s coal exports by volume to Europe before falling into decline and closing during 2001. The port facilities are still used for importing some goods from overseas; they were expanded with a new deepwater wharf built at Fishermans Bend during 1997-2001, following almost twenty years without any major development thereafter, its coal export activity declined and ceased.
Many historical sites can be visited there: Southgate Street houses an exhibition with artefacts found nearby; Bath Lane has two altars outside what used to be one of the Gloucesters’ most important places; Kingsholm Road had remains uncovered near rugby stadium. One of Gloucester’s well-known landmarks is Saint Michael’s, which is high on a hill and has great city views.
